The sculpture is called ¡°Aotearoa,¡± which is the Maori name for New Zealand and literally means ¡°The Land of the long, white cloud¡± This is an original design and the intellectual property rights have been registered in Korea as well as overseas. The sculpture has a mass of over 2.1tonnes and is 3meters long. It shows inner beauty and strength of women with serenity.
The alternate design of this sculpture was commissioned to become the Daphne Award for the BPW New Zealand (Business & Professionals Women¡¯s Clubs Incorporated.) in 1999. The BPW found my sculpture to be very symbolic of values with which they strongly identified.
It is still being passed from one successful business woman to another each year since 1999 as a trophy and as a symbol of honor.
To improve the diversity of materials and creativity of sculptures displayed in Korea, I would love to introduce beautiful Oamaru stone to Korea through my sculptures, which fit very well indoors as well as outdoors. |
